GENERAL SCHOOL INFORMATION

Tuition Assistance: Available on a first-come first-serve basis according to financial need. Completed application, verified proof of income, proof of guardianship, and/or marital status, signed support statement, and a personal interview are required. Families must meet all guidelines and comply with all regulations in order to receive and maintain tuition assistance. Every family is expected to contribute financially to the child’s educational expense. A new application is required every year.

School Hours: School is in session from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Students arriving before 8:00 a.m. or remaining after 3:30 p.m. must be enrolled in the Watchcare Program or the proper authorities will be called to pick the child up.

Watchcare Program: A supervised before and after school program of study and recreation at an additional charge for the convenience of working parents. See the application for fees and hours.

Bus Service: All bus arrangements are privately contracted between the parent and the bus company. The school is not responsible for problems related to the bus service. Miller Transportation Service (443-250-6693) provides transportation to and from St. Ambrose Catholic School.

Uniforms: Students in grades K – 8 must wear the required school and gym uniforms. They are available through Neil Roberts Company, 1110 Rolling Road, Catonsville, Maryland 21244 and Flynn & O’Hara School Uniforms, 1300 Goucher Boulevard, Towson, Maryland 21204. Tennis shoes are only worn on gym days. Jewelry, nail polish, and make-up are not allowed.

Age Requirements: According to Maryland State Law, A child must be five (5) years old by September 30, 2005 to enter kindergarten for the 2005-06 school year. Students entering first grade must be six (6) by October 31, 2005

School Rules and Regulations: Each family will receive a copy of the school handbook. All school rules and regulations will be strictly enforced. All new students enter St. Ambrose Catholic School on a probationary basis for the first year. The school reserves the right to dismiss a student for violation of the school rules and/or policies or for consistently delinquent tuition payments. Parents must agree in writing to all school policies.
